About

“Poets, prophets, and reformers are all picture makers—and this ability is the secret of their power and of their achievements. They see what ought to be by the reflection of what is, and endeavor to remove the contradiction.” —Frederick Douglass

K-12 education ought to enable every student to thrive. For the last ten years, I have been working with innovative leaders from the public & private sector who are developing the resources, practices and school models that can enable students to thrive. We’re learning a lot along this journey and this site is being dedicated to sharing those lessons.

I am currently working as the Associate Director of Strategic Projects at KIPP Public Schools Northern California.  I am excited to collaborate with others who want to figure out what school is like when it enables every student to thrive.

Purpose of This Site

  • To share what we are learning with other districts, CMOs and innovative educators.
  • Share observations with stakeholders (philanthropists, VCs, researchers, entrepreneurs) for the purpose of surfacing unsolved problems or accelerating the development of solutions.
  • Publish case studies and codified practices to catalyze adoption of impactful resources/practices.

Your outreach is inspiring. And your effort to bring technology to those least served by it is equally inspiring. Keep up the god work – on both fronts.

Jennie – its been awesome working with an educator who is so incredibly enthusiastic and energetic. Your involvement and feedback has not only made ClassDojo heaps better (and we know there’s still a long, long way to go!), but has really pushed our thinking – and that was when Beta Classroom was just you! I’m sure any education technology startup would benefit immensely from your personal involvement, and from the involvement of the fantastic network you are building. Good luck – I’m excited to see where Beta Classroom goes, and I look forward to continuing to work with you!

    Cheers

    Sam
